Petsmart offer a range of services but to my horror this was aimed at customer convenience rather than animal welfare. The staff were not fully trained in grooming or they wouldn’t of shaved this poor dog down to the skin putting him at risk of overheating and possible skin cancer amongst other skin conditions! This is for owner convenience and of no benefit to the dog in the 90 degree heat found in Florida.

The training states that it is positive reinforcement based and does not allow slip chains or prong collars, but they recommend and sell them in store alongside electric shock collars. Check out the dogs body language in these photos, this is an air conditioned building yet these dogs are clearly stressed and panting they are also exhibiting other signals which tell you they are not comfortable.
